Policies

I bet you are...

  • busy
  • looking for flexibility
  • wanting to invest in a quality music experience for yourself or your child
You're in the right place. Here's how we'll work together to make that happen.

LESSON TUITION AND PAYMENTS

Private individual lessons are conducted on a weekly basis for 30 or 45 minutes.  Your monthly tuition will be calculated depending on the date in which you join the studio. Here's what your tuition covers:
  • one 30- or 60-minute lesson per week
  • online access to individual practice logs
  • supplemental digital practice materials and resources
  • invitation to studio messaging app
  • recitals and programs
Your tuition also helps cover these things on my end to ensure you have a high-quality lesson experience:
  • piano tunings
  • high speed internet
  • high quality technology
  • payment processing
  • teacher professional development
Tuition is based on a 10-month period (August-May) and is divided into monthly payment installments.  Tuition is based on enrollment, not attendance, reserving your child’s exclusive lesson time throughout the academic year, whether he/she attends lessons or not.

Tuition payments will be made through my PayPal account and will be automated for the 1st of every month. I will send you a link to create an account and automate payments.

MISSED LESSONS

I know that you are a busy parent, student, employee--you name it. You have things going on, and I want to work with you to make lessons possible with your schedule.

During the fall and spring semesters, lessons can be rescheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. You will have access to my calendar where you can select a time should you need to change your lesson time for a particular week. You will not be reimbursed for missed lessons. Your tuition reserves your spot in the studio and covers teacher prep-work.

It is not the teacher’s responsibility to reschedule a student’s lesson if he/she has a conflict. Please give as much notice as possible when canceling a lesson.

DISCONTINUATION OF LESSONS

To discontinue lessons, the student must provide at least one month’s advance written notice. If the student does not provide one month’s advance written notice, the student shall be liable for one month’s tuition in full, even if no lessons are provided during that month.

I reserve the right to discontinue lessons for any reason. If I decide to terminate lessons, tuition will be prorated up to the last lesson taken and a refund provided, if applicable. The reasons for discontinuation may be:
  • Persistent absences/tardiness
  • Excessive requests for scheduling changes
  • Lack of progress due to insufficient practice
  • Uncooperative attitude or general dislike of lessons

Referral Program

  • Everyone receives a FREE first lesson, no commitment necessary.
  • Get a FREE lesson when you refer someone to So La Mi Music Studio who also registers for lessons.
